I believe that the art which one makes is a portrayal of their personality. My work gives the world a glimpse of my natural quirkiness along with my knack for simplicity. When creating art, I make sure that there is a certain degree of whimsy in it. This whimsical touch unites my body of work. I hope that in viewing my work you see a glimpse of my personality.

My Concentration
My concentration for my Advanced Placement 3-Dimensional Design class is based off of the form and movement of the sea urchin. The pieces that I have made so far are made of a range of materials from sculpey to foam to paper. My older pieces are blatant representations of the sea urchin. My newer pieces are abstract representations of the sea urchin.

long girl 1
Girl No. 1
This was my first piece in my series of pattern girls. The ides for this one was to do a (sort of) monochromatic color scheme. Though I didn't fully follow these guidelines I set for myself, I like the way it all meshed together.
A preview of my new series!
Girl No. 2
Acrylic and Pattern
2011
This series is based on the renderings on the envelopes of dress patterns. Each painting represents a different style from the 1950's. The brown pieces of paper are pieces of the vintage dress patterns collaged into the painting. This is the second of four pieces, two of which hung in my show last fall. Hopefully I will be able to post some higher quality photos soon!

New Art
I'm about to upload a few photos from my newest series. This series is based on 1950's dress patterns. Each painting is a rendering of an image from the envelope of the pattern. Collaged onto the piece is part of the actual pattern. This series is really exciting for me because it combines my love for fashion and my love for painting.
